A Personal Note
Writing this book was both a joy and a journey of healing for me.
When my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I wanted to give him one last perfect Christmas—a celebration filled with all the traditions and love our family cherished. Sadly, he passed before I could make that happen and that unfulfilled wish has stayed with me.
This story became my way of honoring him and that dream. Through Addie’s determination to grant the earl the Christmas he once treasured, I found a way to give my dad the celebration I couldn’t in life. Writing it was cathartic, a gift to my parents’ memory, and a reminder that love transcends even our deepest losses.
I’ve always been fascinated by how the Regency era celebrated Christmas. Their customs differed from our modern traditions, yet the heart of it remains the same: gathering with loved ones, celebrating light in the darkness, and opening our hearts to hope and love.
I truly hope Addie and Deverre’s story brings you as much warmth and healing as it brought me while writing it.
